In the fourth part of our Walking with God series, Ps Wiryohadi explores the principles of Working with God, revealing eight biblical “powers” to attain wealth as outlined in Deuteronomy 8:18. Pastor Yonathan emphasizes that true wealth comes from partnering with God, not just human effort.
The first power is to work diligently with God. From the start, God involved humanity in meaningful work, as seen with Adam’s role in the Garden of Eden. Here, the word for “work” implies obedience, service, and worship, making work an act of faith when done alongside God. Proverbs 10:4 reminds us that diligence leads to prosperity, underscoring that wealth flows through dedicated, God-partnered labor.
Ps Wiryohadi explains that God holds a 100% stake in this partnership—He provides everything, while we bring our obedience. Just as Adam was instructed to avoid two specific trees, representing the tithe and offerings, believers today are called to honor God with these as acts of obedience. The tithe isn’t about money but faithfulness; it represents a commitment to prioritize God above all else. This principle was honored by figures like Abraham and Jacob, who tithed long before it became formalized in Moses’ Law, showing that giving back to God transcends specific commandments—it’s rooted in relationship.

In essence, wealth from God is not just financial but about spiritual growth and blessing that flows when we work in faith and obedience. By aligning with God’s purpose, we discover how to steward the resources He entrusts to us, honoring Him as our ultimate partner in life and work.
